MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. 14 professional hours per semester (professional hours include attendance at weekly professional presentations).  50 minutes of actual professional meeting time is equivalent to one BAP professional hour (students may earn 5 professional hours per year from non-BAP activities).
  2. 10 service hours per semester (examples of service opportunities include Al’s Memorial Run, PwC Bowl-a-Thon, Deloitte's Food for Families, tutoring, and proctoring). Students may earn 5 service hours per year from non-BAP activities.
  3. Chapter dues are $100 per year ($50/semester).  These dues are non-refundable and must be paid by each member and pledge.
  4. There is a non-refundable initiation fee that must be paid to begin the pledging process.  The initiation fee is $55 (The chapter remits this initiation fee to our National office).
  5. Attendance at the initiation banquet/ceremony by members qualifying for initiation.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
  1. Completion of the first upper-division accounting, finance, or information technology course past the core courses of the major and one year of collegiate courses (e.g. Accounting majors must complete ACCO 120, Finance majors must complete FINA 181, 183, or an equivalent upper level class, and Information Technology majors must complete one of the following: MANA 121, 122, or 126).
  2. Quality Point Average of 3.0 in all upper-division accounting, finance, or information technology courses.
  3. Satisfy one of the following grade requirements:
    1. Cumulative QPA of 3.0;
    2. Cumulative of 3.25 over the most recent 30 semester hours completed; or
    3. Rank in the top 35% of your class.
