History

In the fall of 1994, three students from Marquette's student government attended a national
conference at Georgetown University. Upon their return, they began Marquette's own chapter
of JUSTICE, and held an extremely successful, novel event in the spring semester.

Marquette's JUSTICE chapter gained momentum the following year, with the addition of
many new members. The chapter sent a large delegation to the national conference at
Xavier University. They were some of the core leaders at the conference, and one of
Marquette's delegates was elected to a national office.

With the help and advice of many of the contacts made at the conference,
JUSTICE hosted Marquette's first ever Jesuit Awareness Week. This effort brought,
together Marquette's faculty, students, and Jesuits in a way never before experienced.
They discovered commonalities through discussing, socializing, and learning. JUSTICE,
also helped host the Jesuit Residence Open House and has worked with other student
groups on various occasions. All of these were extremely successful and rewarding events.
