2008-09 Break Period Information

FALL BREAK, THANKSGIVING BREAK and EASTER BREAK

All residence halls will remain open during Fall Break (October 16-20), Thanksgiving Break (November 26–30) and Easter Break (April 9-13). If you plan to stay in your residence hall, please notify your RA in advance. Visitation hours will end at 1:00 AM each night during these breaks. Upon every entrance into the halls, resident and guest ID's will be collected. Overnight guests will not be permitted during the break.

WINTER BREAK

All residence halls except Mashuda Hall will be closed for Winter Break (December 13 –January 10). The halls close at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13th and re-open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10th. Only those students who are permanent residents of Mashuda Hall may stay in those buildings over break.

(Please note: These winter break opening/closing dates have been revised in an effort to accommodate the men's basketball schedule - the dates are different than those published in the At Marquette Handbook. Overnight guests will not be permitted January 10-11).

Those students who are staying in Mashuda Hall for any portion of Winter Break must notify your residence hall director of the dates that you will be staying in the hall. Please note: the extended opening of these buildings is meant to accommodate students who are unable to return home and not to provide single overnight stays to students visiting Milwaukee. Students who do not sign-up for break housing prior to December 8, must have approval by the residence hall director before being allowed to stay in Mashuda Hall.

A Guest Wing is also available in Campus Town West, 819 N. 16th Street, during Winter Break for students who are assigned to other residence halls. Students may sign up for the fully furnished accommodations in the Guest Apartments at the Office of Residence Life. The cost of staying in the Guest Apartments is $24 per person per night. There will be no overnight visitation in the apartments. Also, dining services will not be available during the break.

SPRING BREAK

All residence halls except Mashuda will be closed for Spring Break (March 7–15). The halls close at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th and re-open at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 15th. Only those students who are permanent residents of Mashuda may stay in those buildings over break.
