The Summer Desk Receptionist (Summer DR) position is a important part of summer operations in the Office of Residence Life. The Summer DR is the most visible position in the Office of Residence Life serving as the initial representative of the residence halls on Marquette’s campus during the summer months.The Summer DR is first and foremost, a safety and security checkpoint for the building. Summer DRs maintain a high standard of customer service when interacting with both residents/tenants of the residence halls/apartments as well as parents, facilities staff, and people outside of the university community.
The ideal candidate is a current student who has customer service experience, a minimum 2.00 GPA, and an ability to work in multiple buildings throughout the summer to make a positive impact in regards to safety, security, and customer service. Summer DRs generally work 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, though placement at the summer residence hall desk will necessitate more hours, including evenings and weekends.
