What is the Ignatian Leadership Retreat?
Known in the past as the Christian Leadership Retreat (CLR), the Ignatian Leadership Retreat is an opportunity for a select group of 50 new students to join student leaders, faculty, and administrators to reflect on leadership, service, and faith, while building community and having fun.
When is the Ignatian Leadership Retreat?
Sunday, August 18 – Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Students who share a desire to put their faith and leadership potential into action in their new Marquette environment gather for an overnight retreat prior to New Student Orientation at Lutherdale Retreat Center, about one hour away from Marquette in Elkhorn, WI. Transportation is provided between Marquette and the retreat center for all participants!

How Do I Apply?
You must apply and be accepted to participate in ILR. Applications can be found online. The application is in a system called Marquette Involvement Link (MIL), a widely used system on campus. You will need to log-in using your eMarq username and password and you will be prompted to create a profile if this is your first time using the system. Please note that your application must be submitted NO LATER THAN Friday, July 5, 2013. Due to space constraints, we only have room for 50 students to be a part of the 2013 retreat. Within a few days of submitting your application in Marquette Involvement Link, you will receive a notification through MIL that we have "approved" your application. That does not mean that you have been accepted to the program, but rather that we have received your application. All applications will be reviewed after the July 5th deadline. Students will be notified of the status of their application by email by Friday, July 12, 2013. There will be no exceptions to this timeline. Accepted students will receive more information about the retreat, early drop-off times, and what to bring on retreat at that time.
Can I Move In Early to My Residence Hall If I Am Accepted to Attend ILR?
Students accepted to attend the Ignatian Leadership Retreat will have the option to move their belongings for the 2013-2014 academic year into their Residence Hall before the retreat at 11:00am on Sunday, August 18, 2013. The Office of Student Development will make these arrangements on your behalf with the Office of Residence Life. You should not contact the Office of Residence Life to schedule an early move-in time.
Campus Housing On Tuesday Night After Retreat
Students participating in the retreat will return to campus from the Lutherdale Retreat Center in Elkhorn, WI on Tuesday evening. We will have dinner and will go bowling on campus at the Union Sports Annex on Tuesday night. While students cannot stay in their own residence hall room on Tuesday night before New Student Orientation begins on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, the Office of Student Development will make arrangements for any student needing housing to stay in our summer housing accommodations on campus on Tuesday night (in Schroeder Hall). Most retreat participants take advantage of this opportunity to stay on campus. There is no additional cost to you to stay on campus on Tuesday night.

How Much Does ILR Cost?
There is a $20 fee to participate in this program. Financial assistance is available. Students accepted to attend the retreat will receive additional information about the cost of the program and how to pay with their acceptance materials in July.
