For parking purposes, faculty/staff is defined as any full- or part-time employee. Part-time employees enrolled in seven or more semester hours of credit courses are defined as students. Regular university employees may pay for their parking permit via pre-tax payroll deductions. Non-university employees engaged in work directly related to university operations are classified as faculty/staff. Assignments to specific parking facilities are primarily based on seniority.

Employees are issued a two-year permit that is renewed during the summer months of even-numbered years. New permits and lot assignments, if applicable, are awarded during this reassignment process. In the interim, employees can secure a parking permit, gate card and assignment to a parking facility by visiting the parking office, which is located in the Wells Street Parking Structure, and completing a paper application. Employees need their university identification number and vehicle information to complete the process.

The 16th Street Parking Structure, located at 749 N. 16th St., and the Wells Street Parking Structure, located at 1240 W. Wells St., are the university’s visitor parking facilities. Although parking is limited on Marquette's campus, Parking Services will do its best to accommodate guests.

Visitors pay upon entry and must display the dated and timed receipt on the driver’s-side dashboard of their vehicle. This receipt is NOT valid for overnight parking.

 

Parking Services offers a series of vouchers to university colleges/departments/organizations that do not want their guests to be charged for parking. These vouchers are sold to departments in advance, and it is the host department's responsibility to ensure that their guests have vouchers in hand when they arrive on campus.

Instead of using cash, coin or credit, visitors insert the voucher into the auto-cashier pay station. Weekday daytime vouchers are discounted from the $5 entry charge to $4, and the evening/weekend voucher is discounted from $3 to $2.

All contractors working temporarily on campus for construction, renovation or repair purposes must obtain a special permit for their vehicle from the Parking Office. Permits will be issued for the duration of the contract assignment.
