Assistant Professor

I have been a member of Marquette’s Department of Philosophy since the Fall of 2004. Before coming to Marquette, I was an adjunct instructor of philosophy at San Jose State University while finishing my Ph.D. in Philosophy at U.C., Berkeley. My area of specialization is Early Modern (17th and 18th century) Philosophy, especially the Rationalist philosophers Rene Descartes and G.W. Leibniz.

Although my research is focused on the early modern period, my philosophical interests are quite broad and include metaphysics, epistemology, and theoretical and applied ethics. Since coming to Marquette I have taught courses in logic, ethics, and early modern philosophy.

In addition to my philosophical interests, I also enjoy rock climbing, sea kayaking, running, hanging out with my kid, and listening to variety of different kinds of music.

Return to faculty home.
