ON CAMPUS FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

MELLON GRANTS (for regular faculty only)

The Helen Way Klinger College of Arts and Sciences has announced its annual call for applications for "Humanities-oriented academic projects designed to improve undergraduate education." These grants are given to projects "based primarily on the promise of the project to significantly advance undergraduate learning in the College." Average grant amount is ca. $4500.
Timetable:
November 1: The Professional Development and Publications Committee will accept drafts of proposals and work with faculty to polish the drafts into final versions.
November 22: Deadline for submission of final version of application to the Professional Development and Publications Committee.
December 5: Applications and ranking by the Professional Development and Publications Committee given to Dr South and the Executive Committee for approval and / or modification and ranking.
December 16: Department proposals due in the College office
Week of Jan.9, 2006: College Mellon Review Committee reviews proposals
January 30, 2006: Notification of recommended projects.

DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS

Smith Family Fellowships - support doctoral dissertation research away from Milwaukee with both a monthly stipend and travel funds.

Arthur J. Schmitt Fellowships - support students doing doctoral dissertation research and writing with a monthly stipend.

John P. Raynor, S.J. Fellowships - support students doing doctoral dissertation research and writing with a monthly stipend.

OFF CAMPUS FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
