In honor of Marquette’s longstanding dedication to physical therapy research, the Foundation for Physical Therapy recently named Marquette to the Collegiate Society in the Marquette Challenge Philanthropy Circle. “Not only did Marquette University start the annual Challenge 21 years ago, your students have raised over $200,000,” noted William Boissonnault, the foundation’s president and chair. “You have conveyed the importance of physical therapy research to hundreds of students for over 20 years and instilled in them a spirit of philanthropy that will impact their lives long after they are students.”The Marquette Challenge has become the foundation’s single largest annual fundraising event, and it provides vital support for doctoral scholarships and research grants. The Marquette Challenge Philanthropy Circle recognizes cumulative giving by universities who have participated in the fundraiser for at least 10 years. Marquette students will accept the award at the Foundation for Physical Therapy’s gala in Boston in June.
