Physician Assistant students win WAPA Challenge Bowl

MU Student Challenge Bowl WinnerMarquette University physician assistant students emerged victorious at the 2011 Wisconsin Association of Physician Assistants challenge bowl, which was held in March in Lake Geneva, Wis., in conjuction with WAPA’s semi-annual educational meeting. The competition between teams from Wisconsin’s three physician assistant programs is a Jeopardy-style match of medical knowledge. All three Marquette teams advanced to the finals! The exciting finale ended with the team of Maria Rosin, Kellyn Boettcher and Sara Duffey narrowly edging out the other MU teams to capture first place. Josh Mueller, Stephanie Steubs and Joanna Lang earned second place and the team of Clare Wilson, Quinn Seston and Madeline Heidel took third place. Congratulations, Marquette PAs!

Congratulations also to Quinn Sesston for being the recipient of the Paul S. Robinson Award, a $1000 scholarship given to a third-year PA student from the Wisconsin Association of Physician Assistants. The award recognizes a PA student who has shown exemplary service to their community along with demonstrating outstanding leadership. It is named after a former physician assistant whose life was dedicated to the PA profession and its political challenges.
