Joelle Taknint graduated Macalester College with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Studio Art in May 2010. Since then, she has been working in the field of social work, specifically with at risk adolescents involved in the Juvenile Justice System. Joelle hopes to pursue her graduate degree in Clinical Psychology and is most interested in looking at how the mental health of Southeast Asian refugees is impacted by processes of immigration and acculturation. Joelle has enjoyed volunteering and gaining research skills in the Mental Health Disparities Lab since May 2012. When she’s not at work or volunteering in the lab, Joelle enjoys painting, drumming, exploring new parts of the city, and spending time with friends and family.
