Brett Christensen is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. He is a member of The International Honor Society in Psychology and his professional aspirations include a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Brett’s interest in ethnic minority mental health led him to join the Mental Health Disparities Research Lab during the Summer of 2012. Also, he was accepted into the McNair Scholars Program in which he worked with Dr. Torres to examine the effects of discrimination, acculturative stress and coping methods upon depression as a mental health outcome for Latino college students. With the remaining time as an undergraduate, Brett plans to further develop and expand his research abilities and interests by being an active lab member and by performing another study for the McNair Scholars Program.
