Currently, I am completing my postdoctoral fellowship at University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody. My specialty is childhood trauma, and I work with children in state custody or at-risk for being placed in state custody. This includes therapy, evaluations, and community trainings on trauma-informed care. This past year I successfully defended my dissertation titled Supportive Relationships as Protective for Children Exposed to Violence: Exploring Underlying Mechanisms.I also completed my internship at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City doing outpatient therapy and clinical work in a residential treatment facility. I plan to continue clinical work for children, adolescents, and families exposed to traumatic stress in the future. My preferred treatments include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
