ADHD clinic

Description

The Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Clinic is a specialty clinic of the Center for Psychological Services at Marquette University. The clinic is directed by Dr. Alyson Gerdes, a licensed psychologist and associate professor, and is staffed by doctoral students in the clinical psychology program. The clinic works on a sliding-fee scale and is committed to working with underserved populations.

Services Provided

The ADHD Clinic offers behavior modification treatments that have been shown through research to be effective in treating ADHD. These include:

Beginning this fall (2012), the clinic also will offer an evidence-based treatment focused on helping teens with ADHD develop and maintain friendships. Dr. Gerdes recently became a certified PEERS provider, the Program for the Evaluation and Enrichment of Relational Skills.

In addition, Dr. Gerdes offers in-service training to schools, parent groups, and mental health clinics on topics related to the assessment and treatment of ADHD and related problems.
