- PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must clearly specify on the application that they are applying to the Clinical Psychology Program of the Department of Psychology in the college of Arts and Sciences using the letters "CLPS". (The Department of Counseling Psychology in the school of education offers doctoral and masters degrees in Counseling Psychology. Their web site is http://www.mu.edu/education/coep/.)
Please contact us!
Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the program directly, to inform us that you are applying. Send an e-mail to our Administrative Assistant, Trish Johnson.
Most of the information about the program, faculty research interests, application requirements, and financial aid opportunities may be found on our department webpage or the Graduate School webpage. If you are unable to find information that you need, please feel free to contact Trish Johnson, the Program Assistant, or Stephen Saunders, the Director of Clinical Training. In addition, applicants are strongly encouraged to contact individual faculty members with whom they would like to work to inform them that they will be applying and are interested in working with them. By doing so, applicants can ascertain whether a faculty member is accepting students for the coming year and may be able to engage in a discussion about mutual research interests.
What are the admission requirements?
In addition to the completed application form, to qualify for admission to the Clinical Program, you must fulfill these specific requirements (international students may need to meet additional requirements):

When should I apply?
The application deadline for the Clinical Psychology Program is December 15. Late applications will generally not be considered.
*PLEASE NOTE REGARDING 2008 DEADLINE: Some pages on Marquette's web site mistakenly had the deadline listed as January 15 (our previous deadline) instead of December 15. Therefore, we WILL be accepting applications through January 15. If you will be submitting later than December 15, please contact patricia.johnson@mu.edu to inform the Program so we can look for your application. There will NOT be preference given to applications received prior to December 15.*
What about financial aid?
- Most doctoral applicants apply for financial aid. Applying for financial aid does not affect your application or the chances of admittance to the program either negatively or positively.
- Most applicants accepted to the doctoral program receive financial aid.
- Financial aid is not available to master's level students.
- You will be asked to indicate on the application whether you are seeking financial aid or not. More information about the various types of aid can be found on the Financial Aid page.
When might I hear if I have been admitted?
Generally, the Graduate School will notify you of an admission decision within four or five weeks following the application deadline.
