Spring 2010 Midterm Grade Information for Session 1 It is university policy that midterm grades be assigned to students in all undergraduate courses and that these grades be based on appropriate written evidence of achievement. University policy does not require a formal midterm exam. However, it is likely that many instructors will administer such a test in undergraduate classes. Instructors who decide to give a midterm exam must schedule the exam during a regular class period on the day indicated in the schedule below. Each class in the schedule is designated by the days of the week and the hour at which the lecture meets. Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 8 a.m. Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 11 a.m. Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Midterms for Monday-Wednesday Classes in Session 1 Monday-Wednesday classes are scheduled for examination at the time designated for Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes. For those courses that cannot follow the standard weekly pattern of the midterm examination schedule (for example, a Monday-Wednesday class that has the examination scheduled for Friday), the examination is to be given on the last regular lecture day of the March 8-13 period. Laboratory, Quiz or Discussion Sections in Session 1 If any course has an associated laboratory, quiz or discussion section, the instructor is free to schedule the examination during that period. Saturday-only and Evening Classes in Session 1 There is no formal midterm exam schedule provided for evening courses and Saturday-only courses. Please check with the instructor. Session 2, 3 and 4 Classes There is no formal midterm exam schedule provided for session 2, 3 and 4.  Please check with the instructor.
