How Does Degree Navigator Work?
Like CheckMarq, Degree Navigator is accessible from any networked computer at any time via the CheckMarq Self Service page. Logins are verified using your eMarq/Checkmarq username and password.
After logging in to Degree Navigator, students and advisers have several ways to track progress toward completing requirements for graduation.
Reports
Students and advisers can view reports with the student's course information.
Reports contain requirement groups, such as major requirements or UCCS requirements, and the student sees which requirements have or have not been completed. The report also details which courses may be taken to complete each requirement.
Visual Reports
Degree Navigator can display a student's progress in a visual report, too. Courses are grouped into requirements, called "islands." Completed and current courses are color-coded in the islands for quick reference. A student can quickly determine which degree requirements have yet to be fulfilled and which courses must still be completed.
What-If Scenarios In addition to viewing progress toward a student's declared degree, students and advisers can examine "what-if scenarios." If a student is considering a change in major, he can view a report to see how his progress in his current major might also apply to the new one.
The what-if scenario can be viewed both as a regular report and as a visual report.
Student Course History
Degree Navigator also offers each student a course history, which serves as an unofficial transcript. The course history lists completed and current courses, awarded transfer and test credit, credit totals, grades, and the student's grade point average.
