How to Register for Classes via CheckMarq
Before You Start
The registration process will be easier if you know the courses for which you would like to register in advance. The Snapshot of the Schedule of Classes can help you plan your schedule.

Noting the Class Number listed in the Snapshot will help you quickly register for your classes in CheckMarq.
Remember that the Snapshot is updated nightly. Although the Snapshot indicates Open or Closed status, that may have changed since the Snapshot was last updated. You may want to note several alternative choices when planning your schedule.
Step 1: Access Student Self-Service via CheckMarq
Click here for details on how to access Student Self-Service.
Once your appointment time occurs, click the "Enroll in or Drop Classes" link. It is not possible for you to register via CheckMarq before your assigned time.

Step 2: Select Term and Click Add Classes Link
On the next page, click the term for which you are registering.
If you receive the error message, "Not Eligible to Enroll for Term," make sure you are clicking on the correct term for registration and that no holds exist.
The "Enrollment: View My Schedule" page appears. If you are registering for the first time this term, there will be no classes listed in the schedule (that's why "no matching records" appears.) Click the "Add Classes" link.
Step 3: Add Classes Page and Click Magnifying Glass
The "Add Classes" page appears. If you already have looked up and noted class numbers from the Schedule of Classes or Snapshot of the Schedule of Classes, you can enter them here and skip Step 4. Otherwise, you can search for available classes by clicking the magnifying glass.
Step 4: Search for Classes for Registration
If you clicked the magnifying glass in Step 3, the "Basic Class Search" page appears. (There is also an Advanced Search link at the bottom of the page. Advanced Search allows you to search for classes by days and times, as well as by instructors.)
Enter the four-character subject area (examples: ENGL for English, HIST for History) under Subject.

Looking Up Subject Areas
If you don't know the four-character subject area, click the magnifying glass near Subject. A list of the first 100 subject areas appears. Click the "View All" link to see all of subject areas on one page.
Click the link for the subject area you are seeking. You will return to the Basic Search page with your selected subject area already entered.

If you know the specific catalog number for the course you are seeking, enter it in the text box next to "Catalog Number." Otherwise, make sure that "Open Classes Only" is checked and click the Search button.
If your search will return more than 50 entries, a message will appear. You may continue by clicking the OK button. Or you can return to the search page by clicking Cancel and target your search.
Step 5: Class Search Results
The "Class Search Results" page appears. Select your classes by clicking the appropriate checkmark.
Step 6: Submit Your Class Selection Each Time
You return to the "Add Classes" page. Click the Submit button be sure to submit each class after each selection.
Step 7: Discussion, Lab or Quiz Sections
If a lecture has a discussion, lab or quiz component associated with it, CheckMarq will direct you to register for the enrollment component first, then prompt you to register for the other associated component(s). Click the magnifying glass for a list of your choices.
Step 8: Success or Errors Found
If Successful:
Look for a "Success" message to appear. This success message will confirm the addition of the class to your schedule.
If Not Successful:
You will see an "Errors Found" message, meaning the class has not been added to your schedule.
Step 9: Repeat Steps 3 to 7 to Add More Classes
To enroll in more classes, click the "Add Another Class" link. Repeat the search, select and submit process in Steps 3 to 7 until you have identified all of your classes for the term.
Step 10: View Schedule
As a final check, click the "View My Schedule" link at the bottom of the page to ensure you have successfully registered for all your classes.
