This Animal Care Manual officially documents the Marquette University policies and procedures that govern the institutional care and use of animals in research and teaching. It represents our institutional “Code of Conduct” to insure the humane care and treatment of animals. All users of laboratory animals are responsible for complying with its contents. Copies of this manual are available in the Office of Research Compliance (ORC) and the Animal Resource Center (ARC). Animal users should read this manual, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and Marquette’s assurance statement, as well as watch appropriate training videos before working with animals.
