Violations of Institutional and Agency Requirement

All investigators using animals are expected to comply with institutional and regulatory agency requirements.

Possible infractions should be referred to any member of the IACUC.

In the event of a minor infraction, a written warning from the Chairman of the IACUC will be issued. This warning will detail specific violations and establish a deadline for returning to compliance. A major infraction will be referred to the IACUC for appropriate action.

Any subsequent violation will result in withdrawal of privileges for using the Institutional Animal Care Facility. The duration of the privilege loss will be determined by the Graduate Dean upon consultation with the IACUC.

Subsequent violations occurring outside of the Institutional Facility will result in a loss of privileges for conducting animal research.

Appeals are mediated by the Dean of the Graduate School.
