"The greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart, a revolution which has to start with each one of us." ~ Dorothy Day

We're still looking for applicants for the Dorothy Day Social Justice Living Learning Community!

The Dorothy Day Social Justice Living Learning Community is a tight-knit community of 24 sophomore students who dedicate themselves to a year of intentional service, justice, and community building.  They spend time together serving the Milwaukee community, discuss the most pressing issues of social justice, and grow in their calling to be agents of change in our world.  Spend your sophomore year living with others who have similar goals: advocating for justice issues, whether poverty or fair trade, the environment or education.

Students who live in Dorothy Day:

  • Take two service-learning courses together (PHIL 2310 and THEO 3530) focused specifically on social justice
  • Participate in Community Night on Tuesday nights
  • Live with others who share the same interest in service and social justice
  • Have access to additional development opportunities within the residence hall
  • Connect with faculty and staff members who will help you explore your advocacy and service interests

Students Required to Meet with Academic Advisers

Before registering for classes for the fall semester, students must visit their academic adviser, as determined by their college advising policy. Students should bring a list of courses they are planning to take for the summer or fall semester, as well as any questions about study abroad, internships, double-majors and minors. Undergraduate students use Academic Advisement in CheckMarq to help plan class schedules and make advising sessions more effective.

Summer registration begins Thursday, March 22. Summer registration appointments are not required. Fall registration begins Monday, March 26, and Snapshot is available to plan summer and fall courses.

Registration appointments for fall have already been assigned and can be accessed on CheckMarq. Students may register for classes at their assigned time or thereafter.

More information is available on Marquette Central’s website. Students should direct any questions to their college office.
