What exactly is Lil’ Sibs Weekend?
Lil’ Sibs Weekend is an opportunity for the siblings of Marquette University students to come and share in the Marquette experience through various events sponsored by students, faculty, and staff.
When is it?
This year, Lil’ Sibs Weekend begins on Friday, April 18th and ends Sunday, April 20th.
What does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee includes a picnic dinner on Friday, brunch and dinner on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday in any of the residence halls. It also includes the Lil’ Sibs T-shirt for the sibling and miscellaneous fees [i.e. printing, mailing, etc.]. $1 from your registration goes to the United Way, the chosen charity of the 2008 Lil’ Sibs Committee.
Where do I check in?
Check-in will be Friday afternoon from 4:30pm until 6:30pm at the Alumni Memorial Union in the 2nd floor lobby. All siblings must check in to receive a visitation wristband.
What if my child arrives later than 6:30pm on Friday?
If you arrive after 6:30pm you may pick up your registration materials at your Marquette student’s residence starting at 7:00pm. Siblings of students who live off campus may pick up their packet at the Alumni Memorial Union Information Desk.
Where do I park?
You may park in either Structure 1 located on 749 North 16th Street or Structure 2 located on 1249 West Wells Street.
Are there any limits to who can come?
There are no age limits, however we ask that the attendee be a sibling, cousin, or relative of your Marquette Student; exceptions to this rule will be made on a case-by-case basis. Events are geared toward children of all ages.
Does it matter if I register for the events ahead of time?
Some events will fill. We ask that you mark the events that your children are planning to attend to ensure there will be room for them at the event. You will not be able to check events that have already reached their capacity. In addition to this, your Marquette student will receive a confirmation postcard reminding you of the events that you have signed up for and informing you of those that may have been full. All space vacancies will be filled in the order we receive registration forms.
Where will the siblings attending the events stay?
Siblings usually stay with their older brothers/sisters in their residence and are allowed to do so provided the siblings have their wristbands. Roommate approval is necessary for siblings to stay in the residence halls. All siblings are subject to the overnight guest policy as administered by the Office of Residence Life.
How many t-shirts does the fee include?
Each registered Lil’ Sib will receive a T-shirt. However, if you would like additional T-shirts, they are available for $5.
