Lieutenant Colonel Robert T. Hassler is the Commander, Air Force ROTC Detachment 930, at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is responsible to the AFROTC Commander and the university president for recruiting, training, motivating and educating Air Force officer candidates. He is the senior Air Force officer on campus with dual responsibilities as Detachment Commander and Chairman of the Department of Aerospace Studies with rank of full professor.
Colonel Hassler is a 1991 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He has served in various assignments including aircraft survivability analyst, B-2 guided munitions engineer, Milstar payload engineer and chief operations engineer, Squadron Officer School flight commander, faculty developer and operations officer, and Director of orbits analysis for the National Reconnaissance Office’s SIGINT satellite constellation. He also served on the Headquarters Air Force Space Command staff as an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems analyst, Chief of Analyses and Assessments, and as Executive Officer to the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs, Analyses, Assessments and Lessons Learned. Colonel Hassler came to Detachment 930 from Headquarters, 14th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic) where he served as Director of Analyses, Assessments and Lessons Learned.
