Lieutenant Colonel Randall Wickman
Professor of Military Science

Lieutenant Colonel Randall Wickman is a native of Wisconsin and entered military service May 18th, 1991; having been inspired to serve by the veteran servicemen of the American Legion during Boys Nation in 1986.

Lieutenant Colonel Wickman has served as a rifle platoon leader, anti-tank platoon leader, heavy weapons company executive officer and Aide de Camp in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, 1992-1996.  Lieutenant Colonel Wickman served 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany, through two tours in Bosnia as a brigade assistant operations officer and battalion logistics officer, 1996-1998.  Lieutenant Colonel Wickman commanded Company A, 2nd Battalion 6th Infantry, 1998-2000.  Lieutenant Colonel Wickman returned to the United States to Miami, Florida, as an imbedded unit advisor to the 1st Battalion, 124th Infantry, 53rd BCT Florida. 

After a year at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, for the Command and General Staff College Lieutenant Colonel Wickman joined the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.  Lieutenant Colonel Wickman trained, deployed and fought the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, to Iraq as the Task Force operations officer 2003-2004; and continued in Iraq as the 3rd Brigade Combat Team operations officer 2004-2005.  In July, 2005, Lieutenant Colonel Wickman served the U.S. Southern Command as Joint strategic plans officer and as the Secretary of the Joint Staff.

Lieutenant Colonel Wickman currently serves as the Commander and Professor of Military Science at Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Lieutenant Colonel Randall Wickman is a graduate of Joint Professional Military Education II, the Army Command and General Staff College, the Infantry Officer Basic and Advance Courses, Strategic Deployability School, the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Officer’s Course, Ranger, Jumpmaster, Airborne and Air Assault Schools.

Lieutenant Colonel Wickman holds a Master of Arts Degree in Diplomacy-International Conflict Resolution from Norwich University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ripon College in Politics and Government.

Lieutenant Colonel Wickman’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 olc), the Joint Commendation Medal, the Army Joint Commendation Medal (4 olc), the Joint Service Achievement Medal (1 olc), Army Achievement Medal (1 olc), the National Defense Service Medal (2d Awd), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, and NATO Medal.

Lieutenant Colonel Wickman is married to the former Miss Lisa Witt of West Bend, Wisconsin, and has two children.
