Captain Christopher Hornsby S-3, Assistant Professor of Military Science & Leadership
Captain Hornsby graduated from Marquette University with a BA in Political Science and Criminology and Law Studies. He earned a commission through the Marquette University Army ROTC Program and was branched into the Field Artillery in May of 2004.
CPT Hornsby served as a Platoon Leader, Company Fire Support Officer, and Targeting Officer with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky from 2005 to 2007. CPT Hornsby deployed to Bayji, Iraq with 3rd Brigade in 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon completion of the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, CPT Hornsby was assigned to a Battalion Military Transition Team (MTT) and served as the team Fires and Effects Advisor. His team deployed in 2008 to Taji, Iraq to assist and train the Iraqi Army’s 2nd Mechanized Battalion and also served as the Transition Team
for the Port of Umm Qasr. His military education includes the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Airborne school, and Air Assault School.
