Current Activities
Students in the Navy ROTC program at Marquette University participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, ranging from community service, sports, professional development events, and social gatherings. Click on the name of the event you wish to view pictures of.
The Unit recently had the pleasure of welcoming back alumni from the class of 1964.



Marquette NROTC recently held it's annual Freshmen Orientation. The unit welcomed 43 new faces to the unit.





Every Spring, seniors gather to honor Naval tradition, and to celebrate together prior to commissioning.



Marines and interested Navy midshipmen gain valuable experience throughout this unique opportunity.




Every Spring the outstanding midshipmen of the battalion are recognized for their efforts at awards day. The ceremony includes a guest speaker and a pass-in-review.



Every Spring the battalion gathers for a formal ball to celebrate the past year's accomplishments.


Almost half the battalion attended this year's Memphis Drill Competition. Marquette had a very successful trip, placing 2nd amongst all schools in attendance. Midshipmen made up various types of teams including full platoon, squad and color guard teams and also men's and women's endurance teams.




Drill sessions provide valuable professional development time during which the midshipmen participate in a variety of activities. Activities include award ceremonies, classroom training, and inspections.
Social hour follows all drill sessions to give the midshipmen a chance to enjoy refreshments and socialize with each other and the unit staff.



Midshipmen volunteered to help out the local Big Brothers/Big Sisters chapter by helping to host their 3-on-3 basketball tournament. This volunteer opportunity offered a chance to meet area youth and also to practice organizational skills.



Each spring, midshipmen compete in the ROTC basketball tournament hosted by Notre Dame. The tournament includes teams made up of ROTC students from all three branches of service and from across the country.







Every winter a separate commissioning ceremony is held for those midshipmen who graduate in December.


Each semester a new set of midshipmen take command of the battalion, giving these midshipmen the opportunity to put their leadership skills to work.


A once in a lifetime opportunity came to Milwaukee this Fall. The commissioning of the USS Freedom, the first in a new class of Littoral Combat ships, happened here on 8 November. Many Marquette midshipmen were able to be a part of the festivities, including being a part of the Color Guard, and even dressing up at the famous Milwaukee Brewers Sausages.





Every Fall the midshipmen compete with each other to see which platoon can claim physical fitness supremacy.





At the end of each semester, the CO inspects the uniforms of all midshipmen giving them a chance to shine.



The Color Guard provides many unique opportunities to midshipmen who participate. This fall, the Color Guard was invited to display the Colors during the pregame ceremonies at the Bucks-Spurs game.


Every Fall midshipmen compete against the other two ROTCs (Army and Air Force) on campus for football supremacy. This year the Navy men's team won it all.





The battalion runs as a unit every fall during Al's run for charity.
The sailing team participates in various regattas such as in Jacksonville, FL and Denver, CO and Madison, WI.



Marquette Naval ROTC students participated in the pre-game ceremonies and enjoyed a Brewers game at Miller Park during Military Appreciation Day.
