By car: Head east on W Wisconsin Ave toward N James Lovell St. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto N James Lovell. Turn right onto W Wells St., then turn left at the 1st cross street onto N 6th St. Turn right onto W McKinley Avel Turn left onto N Doctor MLK Drive and your destination will be on the left.

By bus: Take the 40U from stop #7062 on N6 and Wisconsin. Ride the bus and disembark at N6 & Walnut St. Walking, head south on N 6th St toward W Walnut St. Turn left onto W Walnut St, then right onto N Doctor MLK Drive. The destination will be on the right.

Orientation: September 18th from 4:30-5pm.

Days/Hours of Volunteering: Students can find out specific days and times for service learning during the Service Learning Sign-Up Night.

Description of Agency/Activities: Golda Meir School is a Milwaukee Public School that currently services students in grades 3-10.  Our specialty program offers gifted and talented curriculum supports for advanced learners and for those students showing creative and artistic abilities and leadership talents.  The academic success of our program reflects results that are achieved by students who are motivated by an exciting, interdisciplinary curriculum; students supported by families; students who are connected with community partners, and students who are preparing for excellence in higher education and beyond.  Our mission is to provide an educational program and learning environment that is intellectually inspiring, emotionally compelling, aesthetically enriching and personally relevant; an environment where all learners connect experiences and construct meaning through active participation in the learning process.  Our educational community is committed to preparing our student learners for future leadership roles in our global society. The Golda Meir School campus is located in downtown Milwaukee, in the heart of the Schlitz Park business district.

Student Role at Agency: Students will engage in tutoring High School and Middle School students in  Math, Foreign Language, Writing, and Leadership/Student Council after school.  Possible roles may include homework support in Math, English, Foreign Language (Spanish) content areas or in assisting students with writing in the computer lab.
