Transportation: Take the eastbound #30 bus from Wisconsin Avenue. Ride for about 20 minutes and exit at Bradford Ave, one block north of North Avenue. Walk west one block to Prospect Avenue, and the center is right there. Approximate Travel Time By Bus: 25 minutes Approximate Travel Time By Car: 10 minutes

Description of Agency and Activities: The Milwaukee Catholic Home is a “continuing care retirement community that provides older adults with an array of residential, healthcare, and spiritual services, respecting dignity, independence and individuality.”

Student Role in Agency: Service Learners may help with planning a significant volunteer “thank you” event, helping with invitations, foods, and activities. Students also may assist with the residents’ activities: calling bingo, helping with crafts, and assisting in escorting residents when necessary.

Commitment: Students will work two hours each week. They will need to fill out a background check on their first visit to the site.
