Enduring the elements

“Being homeless is hard. Can you do it for a night?” That was the challenge issued to Marquette students participating in “Sleep Out in Solidarity,” an event sponsored by University Ministry’s Midnight Run program. On a chilly, rainy April night, students gathered in Milwaukee’s Pere Marquette Park to reflect, pray and learn. Students also gathered signatures asking Milwaukee’s mayor and Common Council to commit at least $1 million for the Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund in the 2009 budget.
