Dr. Zevitz has the second longest tenure among members of the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences. He joined Marquette in 1983, having previously worked for ten years as a Division Director in the Sheriff's Department in San Francisco, California.

His research interests include law enforcement, elderly crime victimes, penal reform, and sex offender notification. Dr. Zevitz teaches Introductory Criminology and Introduction to the Law.
