Engineering Ethics & Values

The minor in Engineering Ethics and Values offers engineering students the opportunity to understand the impact of Christian, Catholic and Jesuit values on engineering ethics, recognize current engineering ethical issues, and strengthen their moral resolve to act courageously on these issues once they enter the engineering profession.

MINOR IN ENGINEERING ETHICS & VALUES CURRICULUM
Your required courses blue.

A total of six courses are needed to complete the interdisciplinary minor. Take two courses from the Culture group and two courses from the History and Society group. Two more courses from any of the remaining courses below complete the minor.

Basic Requirements:

Philosophy of Human Nature
Theory of Ethics
Introduction to Theology
Principles of Sociology

Plus three courses from the following:

Contemporary Ethical Problems
Technology and the Human Condition
Environmental Philosophy
Theology and the Natural Sciences
Medical Ethics
Sociology of Human Values

In addition to the above courses, a colloquium series is offered each term. Students are required to attend each of colloquia.
