Not Acceptable

• Tissue Products & Paper Toweling
• Frozen Food Boxes
• Dairy Carton Boxes
• Paper Contaminated with Food Residue or Other Debris
• Pizza Boxes or Carryout Food Wrappers
• Waxed Boxes (Juice Boxes)

 

Glass

Acceptable

• Any Color Glass Bottles, Jugs or Jars
• Glass Beverage & Glass Food Containers

Not Acceptable

• Ceramic Items (Dishes, Vases, Cups)
• Drinking Glasses or Crystal
• Light Bulbs
• Window or Auto Glass

Tips

1. Recycle clear, green, brown, and tinted glass
2. Please rinse out and remove lids and caps
3. It is not necessary to remove paper labels

Plastic

Acceptable

• Soda Bottles (Includings tops)
• Milk & Water Jugs
• Laundry Bottles
• Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion & Cosmetic Bottles
• Dairy Tubs (Butter, Margarine, Yogurt, Sour Cream)

Not Acceptable

• Motor Oil & Antifreeze Bottles
• Styrofoam or Microwave Containers
• Plastic Bags
• Medical Supplies
• Plastic Toys, Flower Pots or Garden Plastics
• Pesticide or Herbicide Containers

Tips

1. Make sure container is labeled 1 - 7 on the bottom

Cans/Metal

Acceptable

• All Aluminum Cans
• All Steel or Bi-Metal Cans
• Metal Lids & Bottle Caps

• Pots & Pans
• Gasoline Cans & Scrap Metal

This was our latest recycling rate under single-stream recycling. Monthly recycling rates will be posted here as we receive them. Our goal is to recycle 30% of our waste by July 2011. Before single-stream recycling the university recycled approximately 19% of our waste.
