John D. Laurance, S.J. (Ph.D., University of Notre Dame, 1983), [Systematics/Ethics], specializes in the theology and history of Christian liturgy. He has authored one book ('Priest' as Type of Christ [Peter Lang, 1984]), edited four others (e.g., Introduction to Theology [Pearson, 2000]), and published nineteen scholarly articles (e.g., "The Eucharist as Imitation of Christ," Theological Studies 47 [1986]; "The Assembly as Liturgical Symbol," Louvain Studies 22 [1997]; "Catherine Bell and Liturgical Theology," Antiphon 2 [1999]; and "The Eucharist and Eucharistic Adoration," Louvain Studies 26 [2001]) along with numerous book reviews.
He is currently editing volumes in the Lex Orandi series on the sacraments (Liturgical Press) for which he also engaged in writing the Eucharist volume.
