Description: Dr. Masson has made extensive
use of Blackboard, especially in the area of assessment.
For example, Masson is currently using Blackboard
to administer quizzes, post review questions.
A few years ago, the Theology Department developed
the Theological Literacy Diagnostic and Assessment,
which is designed to assess student learning. It was
never fully implemented because of the class time
required to administer it. Masson saw Blackboard as
a means of overcoming traditional time constraints.
Because students can access a Blackboard course website
anytime from any place, Masson was able to partially
implement the diagnostic. Soon, THEO 001 instructors
can require students to take the diagnostic without
taking up valuable class time.
