Participants must go through an application
process. There are three meetings that one must attend:
1) an information Meeting, Oct. 13th or Oct. 14th; 2)
a one-on-one meeting with student group leaders, and 3) the final orientation,
March 4th. Click here to see a timeline for the 2008-2009 MAP process.
(October 13, 2008 & October 14, 2008) Finished
Here students
learn about the program, the sites, and the application
process. Students are asked to choose their top four sites.
Although their top choices cannot be guaranteed, students
will usually receive one of their choices. Applications
are due November 14th, 2008 online, by 11:59pm.
(Week of Feb. 2, 2009 - February 6, 2009)
After all of the site assignments are made, participants
sign up for a one on one meeting with the facilitators
of their group. At this meeting they ask questions, discuss
their site, and get a general idea of what to expect.
The facilitator also gets to know the participant.
(March 4, 2009)
The Final Orientation is the last meeting before the
trip. It is held to discuss logistics of the trip and meet with the other members of the group. Failure to attend without prior "ok" will normally mean the student will not be able to make the trip.
Applications for leaders should be picked up in AMU 236 after the info meetings (Oct. 13 & 14, 2008). They are due back at AMU 236 by end of the day, October 24 (previous deadline had been October 21).
Participants who aren't applying to be leaders,
Apply here online.
