Volunteers make
sandwiches at Cobeen Hall and join a team of other
students serving soup and sandwiches to neighborhood
guests in a designated area outside Lot T on 19th street between
Wisconsin and Clybourn. Noon Run takes place Sunday through Friday 12:00 Noon-1:30pm during the academic year.
Volunteers help
serve a breakfast meal and clean up at St. James Episcople Church located at 833 W.
Wisconsin (next to David A. Straz, Jr. Tower). Volunteer opportunies available Monday-Friday 7:30-10:00am.
GESU
MEAL
Volunteers make sandwiches at Cobeen Hall and serve at the Gesu Meal in their parish center located behind Gesu Church. Volunteers work with Gesu parishioners in facilitating this meal. Opportunites available every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Saturdays, 3:00-6:45pm.
The Cathedral Center is a shelter for women and children and is located on Van Buren and Kilbourn Ave. Volunteers provide attention and tutoring assistance to the children in the center. Volunteer times are Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-8:00pm.
Guest House, located at 1216 N. 13th Street is a homeless shelter for men. Volunteers work with Guest House staff in registering
guests and providing them basic personal care items as needed. Volunteers work Wednesdays from 5:30-8:00pm.
Volunteers assist
with serving an evening meal and providing hospitality at this large
meal program for individuals and families on Milwaukee's near South Side. Volunteer opportunites available for Sunday, Wednesday or Friday from 5:00-7:00pm.
Hope House is a shelter for woment and children located on the near South Side. Volunteers work particularly with the children in the center, assisting them with homework and other studies. Volunteers times are Thursdays from 5-7:30pm.
Volunters support
this advocacy group, located at 1335 W. Vliet Street, by joining in Saturday morning
meetings and clothes distribution for the homeless
who call this site their "living room." Volunteer times: Saturday, 11:30am-1:00pm.
St. Ben's "Loaves and Fishes" meal program is one of the first in the city. Located at 1015 N. 9th Street, Volunteers help
serve evening meals to hundreds of guests Sunday through Friday, 4:45-6:45pm.
Volunteers provide
assistance in numerous ways at this Catholic worker Home for women and children. Volunteers for this site need to be self-starters and pitch in where needed. Volunteers serve on Monday & Tuesday from 6-8pm, Wednesdays from4-6pm, or Fridays from 4:30-6:30pm.
