Marquette's vibrant campus community is a source of energy and intellectual stimulation for students, faculty, and staff. We are alive with creativity, dynamic exchange, and an esprit de corps that is contagious. The variety of courses, student activities, lectures, and university committees can leave us breathless, even as we are grateful to be a part of a university that has so much to offer its students.
Amid this busy enviornment, Jesuit universities like Marquette have a particular responsibility to encourage a broad and balanced perspective about who we are, why we are in the work of education, and where our priorities lie. It helps to step back from our immediate concerns to note what is going on around us and prayerfully consider possibilities for the future. A Jesuit university, when it is true to its heritage, encourages all members of its community to take regular time to reflect on their lives, their work, and their values.
Toward that end, the Office of Mission and Identity publishes, in News Briefs,
Mission Reflections - articles on Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit education, brief esays by employees and students, prayers, and various resources to help you and other members of the Marquette community reflect on a regular basis. Past reflections are archived below. If you have suggestions for these Mission Reflections or would like to forward the name of a potential contributor, please contact Laura Krenz (laura.krenz@marquette.edu). We look forward to hearing from you.
