The
Consortium
A
major function of the Wisconsin Geriatric Education Center is
to promote interchange and collaboration among Wisconsin's researchers,
educators, and practitioners working in the field of aging.
Since its inception in 1986, the WGEC has operated as a formal
consortium consisting of Wisconsin's premier academic and health
care organizations. Current consortium member institutions are:

Marquette
University
Marquette
University has served as the lead institution for the WGEC since
1986. The WGEC is administratively housed on Marquette University's
campus and receives substantial in-kind support from the University's
various offices. Within Marquette, the College of Nursing and
School of Dentistry have taken leadership roles with regards
to WGEC programming. |

Medical
College of Wisconsin
The Medical
College of Wisconsin is an original consortium member of the
WGEC (1986). Within the Medical College, the Division of Geriatrics/Gerontology
and Office of Educational Services have assumed leadership roles
for WGEC initiatives. |

Aurora
Health Care
Aurora
Health Care - Alternative Delivery and Community Programs is
an original consortium member of the WGEC (1986). Within the
Aurora system, leadership for WGEC programming initiatives have
come from the Geriatrics Institute of Sinai Samaritan Medical
Center. |

University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
The University
of Wisconsin - Milwaukee is an original consortium member of
the WGEC (1986). The University has been represented by three
of its academic units: School of Allied Health Professions,
School of Social Welfare, and School of Nursing. |

Marshfield
Clinic
Marshfield
Clinic, the newest member of the consortium, has worked closely
with the WGEC on geriatric educational activities since 1995.
Most significantly, the Clinic provides the WGEC's connection
to the rural areas of Wisconsin and to a large telemedicine
network. |

of Wisconsin-Madison
University
of Wisconsin - Madison has been a WGEC consortium member since
1990. The Medical School's Section of Geriatrics/Gerontology
and the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute represent the University
in WGEC activities. |
