Thanks to mentor, mentees with interest in law career get shadow day at U. S. Courthouse

Jim Santelle and Kateri Busiek, MUAA Mentor ProgramWhen members of the Marquette community proudly proclaim, “We Are Marquette,” mentor Jim Santelle,
Arts ’80, an attorney (formerly U.S. Justice Department) in Milwaukee took this to another level with in November.

After learning Cecilia Dietzler, Arts student and mentee of mentor and attorney Harry Byrne,  Arts ’74 in Bala Cynwyd, Penn., Santelle generously extended an offer for her to join his mentee, Arts student Kateri Busiek, for a shadow day visit at the United States Courthouse in Milwaukee.

Cecilia Dietzler, MUAA Mentor Program “It was my great professional and personal pleasure to welcome both Kateri and Cecilia and share some information about, a few perspectives on, and a handful of insights into the criminal prosecution and civil litigation processes in federal court,” Jim says. “Both Kateri and Cecilia have interests in becoming lawyers—likely in different although equally important pursuits—and I hope that our time together encouraged them to follow their aspirations on behalf of our community and its diverse members.”
