Financial Support for Interns

The Marquette University Arts & Sciences Paid Internship Program provides a $1600 stipend and academic credit for up to 35 individual students each semester participating in unpaid internships.

This program aims to remove a financial barrier while improving career readiness through internship experiences. You’ll be able to earn three credits towards your degree, or graduation, by enrolling in one of the internship courses offered by the College of Arts & Sciences or major program. These weekly seminars provide opportunity for reflection and career exploration as well as essential skills like resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, and professional growth.

Eligibility:

  • Junior or Senior standing
  • Students with GPA’s above 3.0 will be prioritized
  • Demonstrated financial need (This stipend is treated as income and can impact your financial aid status at Marquette University. The College of Arts and Sciences will confirm with the Office of Financial Aid that you are eligible and that there is no impact.)
  • Unpaid, College-approved internship. Interns must work a minimum of 140 hours, but no more than 20 hours per week.
    • Internships may be approved by the College office, or by the internship coordinator or faculty member in your major department. This information will be verified to ensure eligibility for the A&S paid internship program.  If you need assistance in finding an internship, please contact asinternships@marquette.edu for help getting started.
  • Once approved for funding, students in this program must register for a credit-bearing internship course (either through your major or ARSC 3986/ARSC 3987)
