Speed Interviews

Speed interviews provide an opportunity to connect with an employer about a job or internship opportunity with a summer 2019 start date!  Through 15-minute "speed interviews," you will have the chance to connect with employers and apply to jobs or internships.  Review the details below to learn more.

Speed interviews will be held on Friday, April 5th from 1:45-4:10 p.m.  Students may participate for one or more pre-scheduled interviews.  Applications are due by Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:59 p.m..

Speed interview times will be scheduled through “open” interview schedules.  Through an open schedule, if you meet the qualifications in the job/internship description, you may sign-up for an interview time as you submit your resume to Handshake.

If you meet all of the employer’s posting criteria (such as major, GPA, etc.), follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the job/internship posting.
  2. Start to apply by submitting your resume.
  3. Finish your application by selecting a timeslot. Select the “Take Slot” button to select an interview time.

If you meet some of the employer’s posting criteria, the employer will receive a notification of your application.  If they approve you to interview, you will be able to visit the interview schedule and sign-up for an interview time (take slot).  You may check on your application status through the jobs – applications menu items.

What to Expect

Employers will likely use the speed interview as a first round conversation.  Business professional dress is recommended.  A waiting lounge will be provided if you have breaks between interviews.
