You’ve made it through your first tests, joined a few clubs, and figured out your meal plan (more or less). So what’s next?
Try the Connect retreat, an opportunity to step back and consider these questions and more:
- How has Marquette been so far?
- What has gone well and what has been most challenging?
- Where has God been present—or more absent?
- How can faith be a greater part of your daily life?
Whether your semester so far has been smooth sailing or a real struggle, Connect is a place to think it over and move forward.
It’s also a place to build an expanded community of other students asking big questions and searching for answers. With both fellow retreatants and older student leaders ready to share their own struggles and growth, you can expect to end the day with new companions for your journey.
Don’t sit this one out. Instead, Connect.
All first year students at Marquette.

Holy Hill (official name: Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians) is arguably the most famous religious site in Wisconsin, and it sits just 40 minutes from Marquette’s campus. Our main meeting space will be in the historic guest house, but retreatants will also have opportunities to explore the shrine, go up the scenic tower, attend Mass, and walk in the surrounding woods and trails.
Meet at Campus Ministry (AMU 236) at 8 a.m. The retreat will end at 5:30 p.m.
$10, which covers transportation, lunch, snacks, and retreat supplies. Financial assistance is readily available; see the Retreat FAQ page for more information.
