Milwaukee Community Resources

AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin: Mission: The AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin works to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted disease through the provision of services such as a medical clinic, preventative care, and community resources.

BESTD: Mission: The BESTD Clinic aims to provide accessible health care in areas of gender-based health and prevention.

Cream City Foundation: Mission: Cream City Foundation mobilizes philanthropic resources by harnessing the pride, passion, and commitment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies to advance the human rights and respond to the human needs of LGBTQ+ people in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Diverse and Resilient: Mission: To achieve health equity and improve the safety and well-being of LGBTQ people and communities in Wisconsin.

Fair Wisconsin: Mission: Fair Wisconsin works to create a more equitable and inclusive environment for individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ through advocacy and grassroots organizing.

FORGE: Mission: FORGE Milwaukee provides comprehensive trauma-informed and empowerment-oriented care for trans individuals in the Milwaukee area including support groups, counseling, resources, and workplace training.

Milwaukee LGBT Community Center: Mission: The Milwaukee LGBT Community Center works to address the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals in the Greater Milwaukee area through providing resources including counseling, group events, and a lending library.

Milwaukee Women's Center: Mission: Milwaukee Women's Center provides a temporary shelter and community resources to individuals needing to escape domestic violence.

Sojourner Family Peace Center: Mission: Milwaukee Women's Center provides a temporary shelter and community resources to individuals needing to escape domestic violence.

Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce: Mission: The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce works to build inclusivity of LGBTQ+ individuals in Wisconsin by supporting and furthering LGBTQ+ owned and allied businesses.


INGS Program

The Gender and Sexualities Studies Program at Marquette University is an interdisciplinary program that explores the ways in which gender, race, class, sexuality, and other social identities and locals impact not only society, but the lived experiences of individuals and their social relationships in a national and transnational context.
