A retreat for Black students, and designed by Black students: #MUmoja2019. Please join us for the FIRST EVER Black student retreat to hit Marquette as we come together in unity and the spirit of God.
We will be discussing topics like:
Come out for a weekend of fun, community, and open-hearted worship. We gon do this our way!
Open to:
All students, both undergrad and grad, who identify as Black (African, African-American, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx, etc) who long to celebrate the intersections of Blackness, culture, community, and Christ, or just wanna see what #MUmoja2019 is all about...
Faculty, staff, and alums are welcome to be part of the retreat as well – contact Bernardo if you’re interested!
Retreat Location:
Cedar Valley Retreat Center, West Bend, WI
Cedar Valley has a cozy Log House, so we’ll have our own space, firepit, and kitchen (but we’ll also using the larger dining hall and get some great homemade meals cooked for us!). The property has over 100 acres including miles of trails and an outdoor labyrinth.
Schedule:
Meet at Campus Ministry (AMU 236) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday
Return to Marquette by 7:30 p.m. on Saturday
Cost:
$30, covers transportation, food and lodging. Thanks to a generous donation from the Ethnic Alumni Association, the first 12 retreatants will receive a half scholarship, lowering the cost to $15. Additional financial assistance is available; see the Retreat FAQ page for more information.
