Cheryl (Adams) Parker

Former Anchor, WXIN-TV (Indianapolis, IN)

I never realized just how much practical experience I gained at Marquette until I began to encounter students from other schools who never learned to write, use a video camera and edit before graduation. From the Advanced TV Reporting class to MUTV, Marquette students learned the skills necessary to succeed in broadcast journalism. Even if you planned to be a news reporter or anchor, you had to learn how to shoot and edit. Now, we've come full circle. Print and broadcast journalists throughout the country are becoming multi-media journalists in order to survive in the business.
