Faculty and Staff Awards, Honors and Grants

  • Provost's Initiative supports two community-engaged research partnership development grants through the Office of Community Engagement. Both grants have been awarded for the 2017-2018 academic year, reflecting Marquette's continued commitment to supporting faculty engagement in research.
    • Dr. Aleksandra Snowden received a $5,000 grant to partner with Dr. Katherine Wilson, Executive Director, of the Frank Zeidler Center for Public Discussion, to examine interpersonal violence from a public health perspective in Milwaukee's most violent neighboorhoods.
    • Dr. Louise Cainkar received a $5,000 grant to partner with Janaan Najeed, President of the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition, to locate experienced civil society organizations and learn from them best practices in community outreach and civil rights education, in school bullying intervention, and in developing an accessible, multi-lingual, online/hotline hate monitoring mechanism.
  • Marquette was named a 2014 winner of the Milwaukee Business Journal's Healthiest Employers Awards.
  • Marquette received a WELCOA Well Workplace gold designation for achieving a level of excellence in workplace wellness programming. This national award ranks organizations based on their commitment to protecting and enhancing the health and well-being of their employees.
  • In 2012 the Marquette University Service Learning Program was named the Experiential Education Program of the Year by the National Society for Experiential Education.
  • Milwaukee Business Journal — Central City Business Award for the College of Nursing and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
  • LSAC Diversity Matters Award — Law School
  • The Marquette University Trinity Fellows Program received the Corporate Citizen Award from the International Institute of WI at their World Citizen Celebration in May 2017.
