Personal Statement:

I was born and raised in the western part of India and lived there until 2013. Then, I decided to move to the US with my husband. Back home, after pursuing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree, I completed my post-graduation in Periodontics in 2011. I decided to further increase my knowledge and expertise in this specialty and am fortunate to be a part of the Marquette dental family. My continuing interest in Periodontics is because I believe in making a positive impact on my patients. By rendering the best treatment I can, I can help them to achieve health and well being. This year, my goals are to refine my skills and keep learning. Besides Periodontics, I enjoy making DIY artwork, cooking and traveling.

Dr. Luepke is a Diplomate and board examiner of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Luepke retired from the Navy in 2008 with the rank of Captain after 21 years of service. Dental School: Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences

Current year in Residency: 3rd

Personal Statement:

Born and raised in Hyderabad Capital and Pearl City of Telangana, I moved to a different city to pursue my dental education. It was a beautiful small town where I pursued my career in dentistry. Around that beautiful small town, I attended various dental camps held by our school. At the camps we saw predominantly patients with periodontal disease. From that point on, I was interested to learn more about periodontal disease and I am blessed to be a part of the Graduate Periodontics program here at Marquette University. This year, I am most excited about exploring my career options after I graduate and learning more complex procedures. When I am not at the Grad Perio department, you can find me either cooking, doing yoga, or out walking in nature trails.

Dr. WalaaAl-Zaibak

Hometown: Syria

Undergraduate College: Ibn Sina National College, Saudi Arabia.

Dental School: Ibn Sina National College, Saudi Arabia.

Current year in Residency: 2nd

Personal Statement: I was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and graduated from Ibn Sina National College of Dentistry program in 2014. I spent two years practicing as a general dentist in Saudi after which, I decided I had to specialize in Periodontics. Nothing gives me a greater thrill than performing delicate and precise surgeries. Also, being in close relation with various medical and dental specialties makes me love Periodontics even more.

The faculty here are knowledgeable and supportive, and I have learned from them in my 1st year at Marquette more than I ever would have in 10 years of practice.

Interesting facts about me are that I love my experience living here in the states and I love trying new things. I never say no to adventure.

Dr. Jeffrey Garcia

Hometown: Pewaukee, WI

Undergraduate College: University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Undergraduate Major, Minor(s): General Biology, General Chemistry Minor

Dental School: Marquette University School of Dentistry

Current year in Residency: 1st year

Personal Statement:

Born and raised in Southeast Wisconsin, Marquette University has always been in my back yard. I started working for a Periodontist following the completion of my undergraduate degree. Working as a surgical assistant, I quickly realized Periodontics was my future. I worked towards a periodontal residency by gaining extra experience in Periodontics during my dental training. Through observing faculty and private-practice Periodontists and by working on research projects, I was able to learn as much as I could about Periodontics in dental school. Beginning my residency, I am looking forward to increasing my knowledge and clinical skill in all periodontal procedures, especially those involving hard and soft tissue augmentation. With the limited free time available, I enjoy spending it outside golfing, boating, biking, and running.
