Meet our residents


Dr. Jacob Burry

A native Idahoan, Dr. Burry grew up in the outdoor tradition of the northwest. He is a fanatical hunter/fisherman, and will never pass up an opportunity to get outside. Adding to the diverse nature of the residency, he brings experience from a unique work history including wildland firefighting and home remodeling/construction. Dr. Burry earned his undergraduate degree at Boise State University. Yes… he is a huge Boise State Football fan, and very pro-blue turf. From there, he received his D.D.S from Creighton University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He was awarded the Stanley J. Honsa Award, the Ridder Operative Award, the Kasiska Family Foundation Scholarship, and membership into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Burry practiced as a general dentist in Fort Collins, Colorado and Sequim, Washington before entering the endodontics program at Marquette. He and his wife Katie are enjoying the Milwaukee scene, and challenging themselves to eat as much Wisconsin cheese as possible before returning the northwest.


Dr. Chad Hansen

Dr. Hansen was born and raised in Utah.  He completed his bachelor’s degree in biology in 2010 at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas where he also received his DMD in 2014.  In dental school he received the AAE Student Achievement award and graduated as a member of the prestigious “Golden Reamers” club.  His research interests include rotary files and their resistance to torsional and cyclic fatigue.   He is married and has 3 daughters and a boxer.  His interests include classic auto restoration, playing basketball, spending time with family, and watching movies.  After graduation he plans on becoming a board certified endodontist and buying or starting a private practice in the western United States.


Dr. Wonhee Lee

Dr. Lee is a graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (New York, NY), where he was selected by the dean of academic affairs for Honors Program during his senior year and won the Empire State Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Award for excellence in cosmetic dentistry.   Dr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI), earning Dean’s List status throughout his junior and senior years.

Dr. Lee is originally from Seoul, South Korea and was privileged to serve in the Korean Army as an oral surgery assistant in US Army Garrison Yongsan for 2 years. During his service, Dr. Lee received the Army Commendation Medal from the US Secretary of the Army and a Letter of Commendation from Major General of the US Army, as well as several certificates of appreciation from commanders of the US and Korean Armies.

Dr. Lee’s current research at Marquette University School of Dentistry focuses on developing a novel storage medium for avulsed teeth.

Upon graduation, Dr. Lee plans to enter private practice as well as teach part-time. Dr. Lee hopes to become Board Certified by the ABE, and he wants to teach eventually as a full-time faculty in academics.  Dr. Lee lives in downtown Milwaukee with his dog, named Mochi, and enjoys playing chess and jet-skiing in Lake Michigan.


Dr. Gordon Barkley

Dr. Barkley was born and raised in Peoria, IL.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Eureka College while lettering in basketball, tennis, soccer, and swimming. In 2015, Dr. Barkley graduated from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine - IL near Chicago. During dental school, he was heavily involved with organized dentistry and student council.  In his free time he enjoys staying active, playing guitar, rooting for all Chicago sports teams (except the Sox), and spending time with his wife, Anna. Although they love living in Milwaukee, they plan to return home to central Illinois after residency.


Dr. Scott MacDonald

Dr. MacDonald was born and raised in southwest Michigan.  He has always been involved in sports and outdoor activities.  Some of his best childhood memories include family ski vacations in Colorado and Utah.  He attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate education where he was a captain of the varsity soccer team.  This is also where he would meet his wife, Eva.  Dr. MacDonald received his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy.  While in dental school he was on the executive board of the American Student Dental Association and his dental fraternity Delta Sigma Delta.  Dr. MacDonald received multiple scholarships and honors during his time at Detroit Mercy for academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.  He and his wife love all of the fun activities that Milwaukee has to offer and are enjoying their time away from the mitten state.


Dr. Kandace Yee

Dr. Kandace Yee was born in Topeka, Kansas and moved to Kansas City, Missouri for her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. As an avid Royals, Chiefs, and Jayhawks fan, she decided to stay in Kansas City to receive her D.D.S. and graduated Magnum Cum Laude from UMKC in May 2015. While in dental school, she received the Pierre Fauchard Senior Student Award and was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. She was involved in many activities, including ASDA, founding a free- student run dental clinic, and the Xi Psi Phi fraternity. After graduation, she plans to become a Board Certified Endodontist and work in a private practice setting.
