Facts, Figures and Purpose

School of Dentistry Fact, Figures and Purpose impactOur Facts and Figures 2018 provides a snapshot of significant Marquette University School of Dentistry information — information that shows our impact. What’s behind this data and what drives it is and has always been our mission. As part of the university, we look beyond boundaries to embrace new and collaborative methods of teaching, learning, research and service, all while promoting the well-being of humankind. Marquette dentists embody the Jesuit mission, providing care to the underrepresented and underserved. In the Milwaukee area alone, we provide  an estimated $15.5 million annually in oral health care with 43 percent of our patients living below the federal poverty level. But our commitment to caring for others extends statewide as well, and each year our students visit patients in rural and underserved areas throughout Wisconsin. Our Facts & Figures 2018 details our service on the back page.

We must also prepare our students to become practitioners who will advance the profession. With an increased focus on research and real-world applications, a Marquette dentist carries forth our mission of excellence, faith, service and leadership.
