As an educational institution, Marquette University takes seriously our role in teaching students about how to engage in vigorous yet respectful debate, especially at a time when our country is more divided than ever. The 500-year-old tradition of Catholic, Jesuit education is grounded in the discovery of knowledge and the sharing of diverse viewpoints, political or otherwise. Marquette seeks to teach our students how to think, not what to think. If we do not make sure our students are exposed to a diverse range of viewpoints and ideologies, we are missing a critical opportunity and doing a disservice to our students.

To promote civic engagement in the 2020 election cycle, the university is providing educational opportunities for the Marquette community and the greater Milwaukee community to learn about key issues facing our city, state and country.
